Health Information Technology Project
Marwood was engaged to assess the risks and opportunities associated with an add-on investment in a $46M External Quality Review Organization that provides care and case management, quality oversight, and clinical eligibility assessments to health plans and U.S. federal and state government customers. I performed a 50-state scan on state regulatory and legislative trends impacting the Company’s key services, and provided outlook on vendor selection for state contracts coming up for renewal. The transaction was publicly announced in November 2022.
Home Health & Personal Care Project
Marwood was engaged to evaluate a potential add-on investment in two providers of pediatric home health and personal care services in Texas valued at $36M. I provided a comprehensive outlook on the Texas Medicaid managed long-term care program, including key points around coverage and reimbursement catalysts on the horizon. I led the Medicaid workstream to completion and delivered key takeaways to the client. The transaction was publicly announced in October 2022.
Dental Service Organization Project
Marwood was engaged to evaluate an investment in a $535M multi-specialty dental service organization operating more than 175 dental offices across 14 states. The Client sought to understand the state Medicaid regulatory landscape with respect to pediatric dental, orthodontic, and oral surgery services. I performed a deep dive analysis on relevant coverage, delivery, reimbursement and DSO regulatory dynamics in the Company’s key states. The transaction was completed in September 2022.
Telehealth & Psychiatry Project
Marwood was engaged to develop an informed perspective on the Medicare and Medicaid regulatory environment for a new company providing virtual psychiatric care services across three states to individuals with serious mental illness. I managed the Medicaid workstream and provided a ‘red flag’ outlook for potential state legislative and regulatory changes which could impact a tele-psychiatry provider such as the Company. The engagement was eight weeks in duration and ended in August 2022.
Intellectual & Developmental Disability Project
Marwood was engaged to assess the potential acquisition of a $95M behavioral health provider and software company supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) across five states. I analyzed Medicaid coverage, delivery and reimbursement dynamics of I/DD services through state HCBS 1915 waiver programs. The transaction was successfully completed in April 2022.
